What makes my class different is my combined experience in several different martial arts, time as a full-contact fighter when I was younger, and my years as a police officer. I’ve modernized what I teach by creating an “urban combatives” system that combines Wing Chun, Muay Thai, Kali, and several other arts, plus police-style tactics to help keep my students safe for the world we live in today. In addition to the actual techniques of LMASD, I teach my students important life skills like situational awareness, basic survival, and what to do after they have to protect themselves (how to interact with police officers positively, seek medical attention, get a lawyer, etc.).
